• The 6-Star Mega Hub connector is an integral component of all Sonostar Mega Domes and Mega Spheres. There are more 6-Star hubs in every dome than any other part. 'Mega' refers to the size of the hubs and fits 1" or 1.5" PVC unlike 'standard' hubs, which only fit 1/2" PVC. Spare hubs are always good to have around. These 6-Star Mega Hub Dome Connectors feature beveled holes so that your bolt heads fit flush on the top. They all have molded holes in each arm, and a 10 degree curvature built in. If you're setting up and tearing down a lot, it's always good to have some spares.

• Our 6-Star hubs are designed to be used with either 1" or 1 1/2" Schedule 40 PVC tubing. Since PVC pipe is measured by the inside diameter of the pipe, it should be noted that the outside diameter of the MegaHubs corresponds to the inside diameter of a 1 1/2" PVC pipe. The inside diameter of the MegaHubs corresponds to the outside diameter of a 1" piece of PVC pipe. The hubs can fit two sizes of PVC. You can use either a 1" pipe or a 1 1/2" PVC pipe.

• The hubs themselves are made of high-strength white PVC, with pre-molded holes for bolt fasteners placed 1/2" from the end of each arm.There is a 12-degree curvature molded into each arm from the hub center, which gives the hubs an 'inside' and an 'outside' when putting the dome together.

  Each arm has exactly one inch of sleeve room for the inserted pipe. You have the option of either gluing the pipes into the hubs or securing them with nuts and bolts. Glue for more permanent builds and the nuts and bolts for temporary builds. Stainless Steel nuts and bolts are included in all of our kits, but It is necessary to specify which pipe size you are planning to use (1" or 1 1/2") so that we can include the correct size bolts.
