Megasphere Calculator

For Sonostar Megahubs and 1” or 1 ½” PVC Pipe

This calculator accurately measures all the strut lengths for your sphere and automatically deducts the 4” from the vertex-to-vertex length numbers to account for the width of the megahubs. Input the radius of the sphere you want to build on the page with the frequency you've chosen. Using 1” PVC, you can go with a diameter as small as 10’ without having to heat-bend your struts. For smaller radius spheres (3' to 10'), we highly recommend the 3V configuration since the 12 degree angle in the hub arms makes a perfect 360 degrees of curvature for your sphere. If you’re hanging your sphere with a lot of weight on it or in it, it’s best to suspend the sphere in at least 5 places, so that all the weight is not concentrated on just the top hub.
